Xstore engineer/developer

Role: XStore Engineer/Developer (2 contract-to-hire openings)

Type: Contract-to-hire (target conversion to full-time at ~6 months; must convert without sponsorship) Location: 100% remote — must be based in the US Pay: Starts at $47+/hr on W2 (conversion to FTE planned after 6 months)

What you’ll do (both roles)

• Lead or support feature development, upgrades, and system expansions for the XStore POS platform
• Build/maintain automated testing frameworks
• Improve observability and monitoring for a mission-critical retail system
• Partner with engineering and operations teams across the organization
• Support enterprise-scale deployments and stabilization efforts

Role 1: Lead XStore Developer

• Lead upgrades and patching for the XStore POS platform
• Develop new features and support system expansions
• Drive automated testing improvements
• Enhance monitoring/observability using transferable tooling

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience supporting XStore in a global retail environment, including regional policies/compliance
• Pennsylvania-based candidates are a plus (home lab provided; PA helpful for hardware lab access)

Role 2: Senior XStore Developer (Payments/Gateway)

• Design, build, and support payment and EFT integrations within XStore
• Work with payment gateways/processors to ensure secure, reliable transactions
• Support upgrades/enhancements/troubleshooting for payments workflows
• Collaborate with POS and platform engineering teams

Preferred experience:

• XStore POS or MICROS POS experience
• Payments/EFT integrations, e.g. EFTLink, FreedomPay, Adyen (or similar)

Requirements

• Hands-on enterprise experience with XStore POS and/or MICROS POS (prior senior/lead duties preferred)
• Strong Java development experience
• Must be able to convert to full-time without sponsorship

• Full panel drug and background screening (criminal, employment, education) upon hire
• Optional benefits available; intent to convert to full-time after 6 months
