About the role

Role Overview

As the Workday Experience Lead – People Technology at HealthEquity, you will ensure Workday works well for people by owning the end-to-end experience layer for People programs. You will steward Workday TMX (Teammate Experience) capabilities and validate that changes are ready from a real employee and manager lens before production.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Workday experience layer across the People Technology platform (not a pure UX or QA role).
  • Perform hands-on configuration and long-term stewardship of Workday TMX capabilities, including:
    • Journeys
    • Help / Knowledge Base
    • Inbox tasks
    • Notifications
    • In-product guidance
  • Partner with domain owners and People COEs to translate program intent into experience-led solutions.
  • Evaluate real employee/manager behavior in Workday processes and recommend improvements based on actual outcomes.
  • Establish and own platform-wide testing standards focused on experience readiness (not just functional correctness).
  • Coordinate testing cycles across People Technology domains, including:
    • Organizing testing
    • Supporting business testers
    • Synthesizing feedback
  • Identify and escalate downstream and cross-domain experience risks before release.
  • Partner with release and upgrade efforts to assess TMX impact and validate readiness.
  • Work with People Service Delivery to ensure guidance and Journeys reduce friction and support tickets.
  • Monitor adoption patterns, feedback, and support trends; drive continuous experience improvement.
  • Maintain documentation for TMX decisions, testing standards, and experience patterns.
  • Contribute to People Technology standards, governance, and long-term platform maturity.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience configuring Workday TMX features (Journeys, Help, Knowledge Base, guidance).
  • Experience supporting testing/UAT/release readiness/QA in enterprise platforms.
  • Background in People systems, HRIS, platform delivery, or adjacent experience-focused roles.
  • Strong understanding of how employees and managers experience Workday across journeys/tasks/touchpoints.
  • Ability to think holistically about experience while executing detailed configuration work.
  • Strong organization and coordination skills for multi-domain testing and readiness.
  • Ability to identify patterns, risks, and friction before they become issues.
  • Clear communication and strong documentation discipline.
  • Experience owning experience/testing standards post-implementation (not just go-live).
  • Workday certification(s) related to HCM or platform configuration.
