WordPress Developer

Role Overview

Mobomo is hiring a WordPress Developer to architect, build, and maintain a website delivery framework. You’ll lead technical delivery by combining strong design sensibilities with disciplined programming, including performance tuning and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Participate in “scope of build” discussions with development, project management, designers, and other developers
• Implement and maintain custom, hand-crafted WordPress frameworks
• Customize WordPress to support specific functionality and integrate third-party APIs
• Build reusable libraries/code and deliver functional, testable code by due dates
• Optimize page load times for maximum performance and scalability
• Create user-facing features and improve existing client sites
• Document plugins and theme/plugin modifications
• Support ongoing site applications by collaborating with existing teams and stakeholders
• Contribute to continuous improvement by growing personal and team expertise (training and exploration)
• Collaborate using Agile methodologies

Requirements

• Strong front-end skills: HTML5, CSS3, Sass, JavaScript, jQuery
• Experience with React (Gutenberg)
• Proficiency with ES6+
• Strong CSS layout skills: CSS Grid and Flexbox
• Accessibility knowledge for WordPress themes and page design
• Experience with npm task runners such as Webpack
• Familiarity with front-end testing and tooling
• Understand asynchronous handling, partial page updates, and REST APIs, AJAX, and GraphQL
• Experience with Google Tag Manager
• Solid knowledge of WordPress APIs, theme hierarchy, and custom Gutenberg block development
• Proficiency with Jira and Slack
• Strong Git version control skills
• Excellent documentation skills

Nice to Have

• Vue.js experience
• Experience migrating other websites into WordPress

Eligibility

• Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a security clearance.
