Role Overview

As a WordPress Developer at Phpjobs, you’ll join a small agile team working on custom WordPress themes and plugins. The role is full-time and supports both on-site and remote work, with benefits and training opportunities.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain high-quality WordPress themes and plugins
Ensure work follows coding, security, and WordPress standards
Collaborate with the team to implement new features and optimize existing functionality
Stay current with industry trends—especially front-end development (React.js and related concepts)
Take initiative to improve your skills and apply that growth to enhance products
Contribute as a positive, collaborative team member and support open communication

Requirements

Deep understanding of WordPress core at the code level
Proven experience building custom WordPress themes and plugins
Mastery of PHP, CSS, HTML, MySQL, JavaScript, and Git
Strong security knowledge and adherence to WordPress coding standards
Familiarity with open source communities and contributions
Strong front-end development understanding and a passion for continuous learning

Nice-to-Haves

Experience with React, jQuery, Backbone, Redux
Build tooling experience with Grunt or Gulp
Styling with SASS
A track record of open source contributions
