WordPress Developer -Javascript

Role Overview

Contract WordPress Developer to design, develop, and maintain high-quality WordPress websites for client projects. This is a fully remote role with a preference for candidates in the Pittsburgh area or within the Eastern Standard Time (EST) zone.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain custom WordPress websites aligned with client goals and specifications
• Customize themes and plugins to meet project requirements and improve website functionality
• Optimize performance, speed, and responsiveness across devices and browsers
• Ensure sites are SEO-friendly and adhere to accessibility standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues, bugs, and security vulnerabilities promptly
• Collaborate with designers, marketers, and other developers to turn concepts into functional websites
• Stay current with WordPress industry trends, tools, and best practices
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and testing
• Manage multiple projects and deliver on deadlines with quality

Requirements

• 2+ years hands-on WordPress development experience
• Strong knowledge of core web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP
• Git proficiency for version control
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment

Nice-to-Haves

• Custom theme and plugin development experience (desirable)
• Knowledge of SEO best practices, website performance optimization, and website security protocols (required per posting)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Web Development or related field (preferred)
