About the role

Role overview

Security Engineer for the Amazon Wireless Security Assessments team. You will build cloud-based detection systems for wireless threats at scale, turning RF telemetry and system logs into production detection logic (with AI-assisted tooling).

What you’ll do

  • Own the detection engineering lifecycle for wireless threats: design, build, test, and maintain detection logic running against facility telemetry.
  • Ingest, transform, and analyze large-scale data such as:
    • RF metadata
    • Wireless IDS alerts
    • Sensor telemetry
    • System logs (e.g., syslog)
  • Develop and refine data pipelines to convert noisy signals into actionable security intelligence.
  • Improve AI-assisted workflows for automation of collection, triage, and pattern recognition so you can focus on expert judgment.
  • Conduct targeted on-site wireless assessments when physical validation is required, using RF fundamentals and wireless protocol knowledge.
  • Author risk-calibrated findings, educate partner teams, drive remediation, and present analysis to senior leadership.
  • Build scalable tools (detection rules, pipelines, automation) to maintain continuous wireless risk visibility.

Key responsibilities

  • Design, build, test, and maintain cloud-based detection logic for wireless security threats.
  • Analyze large-scale security data to identify anomalies, trends, and security issues.
  • Develop pipelines to ingest, normalize, and enrich wireless telemetry for continuous assessment.
  • Own investigations from problem framing through outcome delivery.
  • Leverage and improve AI-assisted workflows for data collection/triage/pattern recognition.
  • Perform on-site wireless assessments to validate detection hypotheses.
  • Drive remediation with facility owners and partner teams; present findings to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Strong detection engineering and data analysis skills.
  • Working familiarity with wireless security.
  • Comfort operating in cloud-native environments.
  • Strong judgment under ambiguity; outcome-oriented.

Additional details

  • Travel: up to 50% within and outside the United States.
  • Eligibility: candidate must be a US Citizen.
  • Application deadline: Aug 8, 2026.
