About the role

Role overview

You’ll be a Wireless Security Engineer II in Amazon’s Wireless Security Assessments team. The role focuses on building cloud-based detection systems that identify wireless threats at scale by turning RF telemetry and logs into actionable detection logic.

Responsibilities

  • Own the detection engineering lifecycle for wireless threats: design, build, test, and maintain detection logic running on facility telemetry.
  • Ingest, transform, and analyze large-scale security data, including:
    • RF metadata
    • Wireless IDS alerts
    • System logs (e.g., syslog)
    • Custom sensor telemetry
  • Develop and refine data pipelines to normalize/enrich noisy signals into clear security intelligence.
  • Leverage and evolve AI-assisted workflows for automation of collection, triage, and pattern recognition.
  • Perform targeted on-site wireless assessments when physical validation is needed (using RF fundamentals and wireless protocol knowledge).
  • Author risk-calibrated findings, educate partner teams, drive remediation, and present analysis to senior leadership.
  • Build scalable tools and automation (detection rules, pipelines, operational tooling) to improve detection coverage and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Strong detection engineering and data analysis skills.
  • Working familiarity with wireless security.
  • Comfort operating in cloud-native environments.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under ambiguity; outcome-oriented.
  • Demonstrated Amazon leadership principles: Ownership, Bias for Action, Dive Deep.
  • Up to 50% travel, within and outside the United States.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Nice to have

  • Evidence of using AI-assisted tooling for detection/triage workflows.
  • Experience with distributed sensor systems and enterprise security tooling.
