About the role

Role Overview

Create modern, responsive, high-performing websites that blend strong visual design with usability and conversion-focused execution. You will handle the full path from wireframes and mockups to CMS implementation, front-end customization, and optimization (performance, SEO, and user experience).

Responsibilities

Website Design & Layouts

Create wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity mockups using Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch
Translate designs into responsive, conversion-focused layouts
Design page sections (e.g., landing pages, service pages) aligned with brand identity and marketing goals

CMS Development & Customization

Build and update sites in WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, Shopify, or similar CMS platforms
Customize themes/templates/layouts using HTML, CSS, and light JavaScript
Configure plugins, widgets, forms, integrations, and CMS functionality
Maintain clean, scalable website structures

Website Optimization & SEO

Optimize speed/performance, accessibility, and mobile responsiveness
Apply on-page SEO best practices (metadata, headings, basic schema, alt text, internal linking)
Run performance audits using tools like Google PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, and Lighthouse
Improve Core Web Vitals and user experience

Testing & Quality Assurance

Test across browsers, devices, and screen sizes
Troubleshoot layout issues, plugin conflicts, responsiveness bugs, and display inconsistencies
Ensure accessibility and usability compliance

Collaboration & Iteration

Collaborate with marketing, content, branding, and development teams
Incorporate stakeholder feedback while maintaining design consistency
Support revisions and iterative improvements

Maintenance & Organization

Maintain organized assets/files and documentation
Keep CMS platforms/plugins/themes updated and secure
Support ongoing updates and maintenance

Requirements

2+ years of professional website design experience
Proficiency with Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar design tools
Experience building/customizing websites in WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, or Shopify
Strong HTML and CSS knowledge
Understanding of responsive design and mobile-first practices
Familiarity with performance optimization and SEO fundamentals

Nice to Have

Experience designing e-commerce websites (e.g., Shopify or WooCommerce)
