Role overview

Mid-level Web Developer / UI-UX Developer for Peraton Labs to build the front-end layer for internal tools and workflow applications. You will work with AI Engineer and Cloud Engineer teams to translate modernization and automation work into clean, accessible, user-facing interfaces.

Fully remote role (United States).

Responsibilities

Build and maintain production-ready React user interfaces for internal tools and workflow applications
Refactor legacy codebases/components into modern front-end architecture
Integrate with backend/data capabilities via REST APIs
Support federal accessibility requirements (Section 508 awareness)
Work with design mockups to implement accessible, responsive UI

Requirements

5+ years of experience with BS/BA (or 3+ years with MS/MA) and US Citizenship with Public Trust eligibility
Proficiency building and maintaining React applications for production
Refactoring experience for legacy code and components
JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript
CSS3 for responsive layouts (Flexbox/Grid) and cross-browser styling
Basic Python proficiency for integrating with backend/data scripts
Comfort with modern environment/build tooling: Makefile, Dockerfile, Node.js, npm, Webpack, Vite
Background as a Web Developer or UI/UX Developer with a portfolio of shipped production interfaces

Strongly preferred / nice-to-haves

Unit/integration testing with Playwright, Puppeteer, and/or Jest; React Testing Library
UX/UI design tool fluency: Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
Git and comfort working in CI/CD
Exposure to AWS-hosted front-end deployments (e.g., S3/CloudFront, Amplify)
Agile/Scrum experience with non-technical stakeholders
State management patterns (e.g., Redux, Context API)
Federal/enterprise design systems (e.g., USWDS)
Data visualization libraries for dashboards (D3.js, Chart.js)
Prior government/public-sector digital service experience
