About the role

Role Overview

Contract-to-hire Web Developer to modernize the Delivery Operations Information System (DOIS) for a client. You will build and maintain responsive, secure, accessible web user interfaces using modern frameworks and assist with development using AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot.

How You Will Make an Impact

Develop and maintain mobile-responsive web applications using modern frameworks such as Angular, React, or similar technologies.
Implement front-end solutions compliant with Section 508 Accessibility.
Collaborate with UX/UI designers to convert prototypes into interactive, functional pages.
Use GitHub Copilot for code generation, refactoring, and optimization.
Ensure applications are secure, performant, and scalable using best practices.
Integrate front-end with back-end services via REST APIs and other data communication methods.
Perform thorough testing for cross-browser compatibility and device responsiveness.
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews).
Work with developers, business analysts, and testers to deliver high-quality solutions.
Design/develop/maintain end-to-end reporting by connecting front-end visualization with back-end data processing/storage (full-stack skills).

Requirements

3+ years of experience in application modernization.
Front-end development skills including HTML, CSS, and Angular or React.
Experience integrating with back-end services using REST APIs.
Strong testing/debugging skills for browser and device compatibility.
Intermediate level experience.
Must be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance and pass a government background screening process.

Nice to Have / Additional Qualifications

AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer).
Experience in a USPS environment or similar federal IT projects.
Experience with VersionOne Agile Lifecycle Management Tool.

Contract & Location

Contract to hire (planned conversion after ~6 months).
Based out of Raleigh, NC.
U.S. residency requirement for clearance eligibility.

Compensation

Pay rate: $35.50/hr during contract.
Target salary after conversion: mid to upper $80K range (after completing the contract).
