Role Overview

Hook & Ladder is hiring a Mid-level Web Developer (Multi-Platform Maintenance) to keep multiple client websites running smoothly. This is a hands-on maintenance role in a remote-first environment with variety across many projects.

Responsibilities

• WordPress & Elementor maintenance:
  • Perform day-to-day edits, content updates, and troubleshooting across client WordPress + Elementor sites
  • Ensure changes look correct across devices and browsers before shipping
• QA & technical oversight:
  • Test your work and catch issues like broken layouts, spacing problems, and missed details
• Problem-solving & debugging:
  • Troubleshoot common WordPress/Elementor issues (e.g., plugin conflicts, broken layouts, broken links)
  • Know when to resolve vs. escalate to senior developers
• Multi-platform support (practical edits):
  • Make non-advanced updates in Shopify and Wix when needed (product/page updates, theme customization, basic app setup)
  • Coordinate with the Web Lead and account teams to keep sites on track
• Continuous improvement:
  • Communicate proactively on ticket status and blockers
  • Keep learning new tools/platforms and grow toward a more senior skill level

Requirements

• 1–3 years of hands-on experience with WordPress + Elementor
• Detail-oriented with a strong sense of quality for real client work
• Proactive and communicative; comfortable asking questions and escalating when necessary
