About the role
Role Overview
Hands-on Web Developer responsible for updating and evolving the DTLR e-commerce website, building and maintaining internal company applications, and implementing usability testing to ensure new features meet business requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the e-commerce website and email experiences
- Extend and optimize web functionality, UI, and navigation
- Integrate the e-commerce site with third-party applications/APIs
- Create and implement internal software projects based on end-user and departmental requirements
- Collaborate with creative/design to implement and maintain the site’s front-end theme from Adobe designs
- Partner with marketing to promote discounts and events and help create analytics/events
- Independently scope work and complete objectives
- Stay up to date with relevant web technologies
Requirements
- Shopify knowledge: platform, themes, discounts, CLI, plugins, sales channels
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Liquid, SCSS, jQuery
- Git (or other version control)
- Jira (or similar ticketing software)
- Familiarity with Adobe tools (Illustrator, Photoshop, or XD)
- Experience working with third-party REST APIs
- Knowledge of ADA compliance
- Experience implementing responsive designs
Preferred Skills
- Ecommerce experience
- Shopify GraphQL
- Shopify app development: Remix, Polaris, React, Preact, Rust
- AI platforms (e.g., Claude)
- Marketing apps such as Klaviyo
- SEO Optimization, Google Analytics
- Agentic Commerce
- MySQL (or other database) experience
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 3–5 years of web development experience
