About the role
Role overview
DataAnnotation is looking for a Web Developer/Designer to help train and improve cutting-edge AI models. You will assess and enhance how AI systems understand, generate, and evaluate design work—covering interfaces, layouts, visuals, and user experiences.
What you’ll do
- Review and critique AI-generated UI/UX designs, mockups, and visuals
- Evaluate AI output quality for correctness and performance
- Provide feedback to improve the model’s sense of aesthetics, usability, and creative quality
- Help train models to better understand aesthetic quality and user-centered design
- Contribute to design-specific projects such as:
- UI/UX critique
- Product visuals
- Aesthetic evaluation (including presentations and creative deliverables)
Requirements
- Fluency in English (native or bilingual)
- Background in UI/UX design, web design, product design, or graphic design
- Strong understanding of:
- Visual hierarchy
- Interaction design
- User flow
- Excellent command of grammar, style, and brand voice
- Bachelor’s preferred (in progress or completed)
Nice-to-haves / path to qualify
- Apply through the general core assessment and then complete a qualification for Web & UI/UX Design
- Once approved, you may be invited to design-specific projects in addition to general AI training projects
Work setup and pay
- Remote: full-time or part-time; choose which projects you work on; flexible schedule
- Pay via PayPal
- Rates: general AI training starts at $20+/hr; design-focused projects start at $40+/hr
- Bonuses available for exceptional work

DataAnnotation works on training and improving AI models by having contributors review, assess, and enhance AI outputs across different domains. The role is focused on helping AI better understand visual and design principles, supporting designers through model evaluation and feedback.
