About the role
Role Overview
Lead the migration and implementation of a client’s subdomain into the main website experience. You’ll partner with internal engineering, product, marketing, and creative stakeholders to build scalable website workflows that let the marketing team move faster independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the migration of a subdomain into the primary website experience
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to ensure technical alignment
- Work closely with marketing and creative stakeholders to implement updated designs and messaging
- Implement updated messaging, content, and page structure in partnership with a contract writer and designer
- Create scalable website structures and workflows for ongoing marketing updates
- Maintain and optimize WordPress and Squarespace environments (stability, responsiveness, accessibility, performance)
- Troubleshoot migration and CMS issues (integrations, redirects, templates, page performance)
- Advise on best practices, feasibility, and implementation strategy
- Support SEO and content migration considerations
- Ensure high-quality QA, responsive behavior, and user experience
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional web development experience
- Strong hands-on expertise in WordPress and Squarespace
- Experience leading or supporting complex website migrations and CMS transitions
- Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, marketing, and creative teams
- Solid understanding of CMS architecture, responsive development, SEO fundamentals, and performance optimization
- Experience working in technically complex backend environments and navigating cross-functional approvals
- Ability to independently manage implementation, communicate risks/dependencies/timelines clearly
- Strong problem-solving skills and comfort in fast-moving environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with healthcare or consumer-facing digital platforms (or marketplaces)
- Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks and component-based web systems
- Experience improving CMS workflows for non-technical marketing teams
- Knowledge of accessibility and UX best practices
- Experience collaborating with freelance/contract designers and copywriters
- Deeper technical SEO knowledge for migrations
Project / Logistics
- Duration: Website update project with potential for ongoing retainer
- Commitment: 150–200 hours (to be scoped)
- Location: Remote, US-based time zone
