About the role

Role Overview

Charles Technology Africa is seeking a Web Developer to independently design, develop, and maintain external and internal websites and applications using WordPress.

Responsibilities

Independently design and develop WordPress-based websites and applications
Maintain existing external and internal websites/apps
Integrate WordPress sites with other applications
Translate concepts from sketches/wireframes into final implementation
Ensure web accessibility and quality design
Collaborate effectively in a team environment and meet tight deadlines

Requirements

Strong HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript skills
Expert-level WordPress experience and capabilities
Ability to integrate WordPress with other applications
Experience with cPanel or other managed hosting platforms
Proficiency with client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks
Working knowledge of Apache, Linux (Ubuntu), and MySQL
Strong oral and written communication skills
Problem-solving, analytical, organized, and proactive attitude

Nice to Have

Experience developing custom WordPress themes and plugins
