Role Overview

Web Developer 2 – Hybrid or Remote for the Learning Variability Network Exchange (LEVANTE), an open-source online assessment platform. The platform supports researchers in measuring developmental variability across cultures and aims to scale to meet global research needs.

This is a 100% FTE, 1-year fixed-term exempt position with possibility of renewal, and it can be remote or based on the Stanford campus.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain the LEVANTE researcher dashboard to help researchers manage web experiments for children.
  • Design, implement, and deploy web experiments end-to-end (design/architecture → development → testing → deployment).
  • Partner with experimental psychologists to refine core functionality and the user experience of the researcher dashboard.
  • Internationalize experiments on the LEVANTE platform.
  • Develop and maintain web-based applications and websites from design through deployment.
  • Implement and support content management systems (install, configure, troubleshoot, and create Stanford-specific modules).
  • Evaluate third-party modules for functionality, accessibility, security, and maintainability.
  • Perform selected website administration for existing clients.
  • Ensure web server and site performance.
  • Create SEO-friendly documentation and well-structured code.
  • Provide technical expertise across front-end and back-end web development.
