Web Application Developer

Role Overview

As a Web Application Developer at OuterBox, you will design and build resilient software for complex applications. The work spans API development, data services, and cloud-based infrastructure, while integrating AI capabilities into applications using AI development tools and AI DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• System Design & Development
  • Collaborate on designing and building resilient applications with emphasis on APIs, data services, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain components using React and Next.js, including SSR for performance and UX.
• API Integration & Automation
  • Integrate third-party APIs from generative AI providers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.
  • Use LangChain to add AI features.
  • Build automations leveraging generative AI to improve process efficiency.
• Coding & Development
  • Write and maintain scripts/automations using JavaScript and Python.
  • Create and maintain serverless Cloud Functions (Google Cloud mentioned).
• Database Management
  • Handle basic data management using Supabase and PostgreSQL.
  • Support scalability, reliability, and security of database systems.
• Problem-Solving
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues for AI-integrated applications and web components.
• Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintain clear documentation of code, workflows, and system behavior for the team and stakeholders.
• Innovation & Improvement / Implementation Oversight
  • Experiment with new technologies and modern DevOps practices.
  • Streamline deployments and improve app management with automation.
  • Lead implementation phases by overseeing code quality, performing reviews, and ensuring best practices.
  • Optimize cloud performance with efficient use of services like AWS and SQS handling.

Requirements

• 3–4 years of professional development experience (exemplary performance may substitute).
• Strong programming fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, and common design patterns; ability to learn new languages/frameworks.
• Hands-on experience integrating third-party APIs, including generative AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI/Anthropic/Google), with basic understanding of rate limits, retries, and failure modes.
• Comfortable using AI-powered development tools.

Nice to Haves

• Exposure to modern JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js or React).
• Familiarity with PHP/Laravel.
