W2/REMOTE - Infra Lifecycle Engineer

Role Overview

Infra Lifecycle Engineer (Remote/W2, travel required) You will manage the lifecycle of physical and virtual infrastructure in a client manufacturing plant environment, including hardware replacement, OS upgrades, and coordination with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Execute infra lifecycle projects for manufacturing sites (build/configure servers and workstations).
• Coordinate with plant points of contact, external vendors, and application teams to plan and schedule replacement activities.
• Perform cutover support by traveling to sites for physical hardware replacements and disposal of old assets.
• Upgrade operating systems for virtual servers and workstations per client requirements and industry standards.
• Replace out-of-warranty infrastructure including (as applicable): plant workstations, servers, storage, ESXi, Unity, iOSafe, UPS with equivalent/new hardware per standards.

Travel / Work Setup

• Work from a home office.
• Up to 15% travel across US sites; at least once per month for 3–4 days.
• Overnight stay/air travel may be required.
• Travel expenses are reimbursed per client policy (receipts required).

Mandatory Requirements

• 8+ years hands-on Microsoft Windows systems administration: Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
• Strong written and verbal communication and ability to coordinate across stakeholders.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex Windows platform issues.
• Experience with installation/uninstallation and provisioning for Windows environments.
• Knowledge of network configuration (IP addressing, DNS, domain integration) and security settings.
• Ability to provision VM resources (CPU, memory, storage, networking).
• Fundamentals of VMware vSphere/vCenter/ESXi cluster administration.
• Hands-on familiarity with Dell (workstations and rack-mount servers), including racking/stacking ESXi hosts and configuring ESXi and SAN storage.
• Experience with Nutanix: deployment, installation/configuration, migration of virtual servers to Nutanix AHV.
• Experience in a manufacturing plant environment or data center environment.
