Role Overview
VP, Engineering at Chainguard, leading a new product engineering organization focused on bringing new products to market quickly and with high quality. Reporting to the SVP of Engineering, you’ll build and scale teams from early “zero to one” product definition through “one to many” growth.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship new products: Own engineering execution from concept/design through implementation and launch.
- Scale what works: Transition products from v1 to enterprise-ready offerings by evolving architecture, processes, and org structure.
- AI-first engineering culture: Embed AI into day-to-day engineering with AI-assisted development, automated testing, agentic workflows, and intelligent automation.
- Organizational leadership: Stand up the organization from the ground up; hire and develop ICs, managers, and directors; foster ownership and autonomy.
- Delivery excellence: Commit to quarterly outcomes and ship on aggressive timelines while maintaining quality.
- People-first leadership: Practice servant leadership; improve retention, psychological safety, and career development; strengthen internal promotion.
- Cross-functional partnership: Partner with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and other functions to ensure products address real customer needs and business outcomes.
