About the role
Role Overview
The VP of Data Engineering will lead the data engineering team and own the infrastructure powering Consumer Edge’s data pipelines. The role is focused on ensuring the reliability, scalability, and quality of data systems that directly impact customers and revenue.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the team: Manage and mentor ~15 data engineers across 3 data engineering teams.
- People leadership: Own hiring, onboarding, and performance management for the data engineering function.
- Technical leadership: Set technical direction and serve as a role model for high engineering standards.
- Own the data platform: Drive the architecture, reliability, and evolution of the company’s GCP-based data platform.
- Pipeline development & operations: Design and maintain robust, scalable pipelines to ingest, transform, and serve diverse alternative datasets (e.g., web, CPG, transaction data).
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with data operations, product, and commercial teams to continuously ingest, process, and deliver datasets at scale.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading data engineering and owning pipeline/infrastructure reliability and scalability.
- Strong technical direction skills for cloud-based data platforms.
