VP Brand at Pepper (remote-first, United States). Reporting to the CEO, this executive role leads Pepper’s next chapter by elevating positioning, deepening emotional connection with the community, and driving measurable business impact through brand storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Brand Strategy & Positioning
    • Evolve Pepper’s long-term brand vision, positioning, tone, and aesthetic as the brand scales into new categories, segments, and channels.
    • Translate merchandising, product strategy, product benefits, fit innovation, and line plans into compelling creative narratives that drive demand and conversion.
    • Own the marketing plan across launches, collections, and seasonal moments, ensuring creative is both elevated and commercially effective.
    • Serve as the brand steward for consistency and quality.
  • Creative Leadership & Execution
    • Oversee creative briefs, campaigns, and visual identities that are memorable, consistent, and performance-driven.
    • Manage development of creative assets including copy and art, ensuring alignment with brand values, deeper engagement, and goal attainment.
  • Performance Measurement
    • Define and track brand performance metrics (e.g., awareness, engagement, perception).
    • Use insights and data to inform decisions and iteratively improve brand strategy.
    • Develop and maintain brand guidelines, toolkits, and internal/external systems.
  • Content & Storytelling
    • Build storytelling frameworks that move customers from single-purchase to multi-category shoppers.

Requirements

  • Highly strategic and creative brand leader with experience driving brand storytelling that performs commercially.
  • Ability to stand out in a crowded market while staying true to a unique mission.
  • Strong capability to partner with executive leadership (Co-founders/CEO and leadership team) to deliver against business goals.

  • Experience scaling a DTC brand and connecting mission to creative execution.
  • Background leading creative teams and development of copy/art and campaign systems.
