Visual Designer

Role Overview

Join Autodesk as a Visual Experience Designer (VXD) to help create intuitive, beautiful product experiences. You’ll collaborate with UX designers and engineers to deliver high-quality visual design across web, desktop, and emerging platforms.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to coherent, intuitive product experiences by applying Autodesk design system standards
• Collaborate with designers, product leaders, and engineers to turn concepts into polished UI
• Participate in design critiques, workshops, and team reviews; incorporate feedback into iterations
• Create strong visual design deliverables with attention to detail
• Stay current with modern design trends and practices

Requirements

• Passion for visual design and eagerness to learn modern product design practices
• Basic understanding of user-centered design and digital product design
• Familiarity with modern design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar
• Understanding of typography, color, layout, hierarchy, and visual composition
• Strong collaboration skills and constructive feedback mindset
• Portfolio demonstrating strong visual design fundamentals
• Degree in Design/HCI/Visual Communication/Graphic Design (or equivalent practical experience)
• 0–2 years of professional experience in visual/product/UX design
• Clear communication of design decisions
• Experience with design systems and reusable UI components
• Experience creating interactive prototypes and validating design concepts
• Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles
• Basic understanding of front-end concepts (e.g., HTML/CSS and web app concepts)

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of motion design, illustration, or iconography
• Experience using AI-powered tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Lovable, Vercel v0, Stitch, Pencil)
• Understanding of generative AI opportunities/limitations for UX and visual design
• Familiarity with AI-assisted design workflows and collaborative cross-functional environments
