Role Overview

MrBeast is hiring a data-driven, creative, fast-paced Video Editor for the Content & Post-Production team, working on the MrBeast Reacts channel. You’ll transform raw multi-cam reaction footage into highly engaging YouTube edits with strong hooks, comedic timing, and clear audio—optimizing for retention.

Responsibilities

• Edit and assemble raw multi-cam reaction footage, balancing:
  • primary talent commentary
  • PIP source media
  • visual punch-ins
• Create high-retention intros and hooks that deliver on title/thumbnail promises within the first 30 seconds.
• Execute hyper-fast pacing with comedic timing, including:
  • kinetic typography
  • memes
  • custom tracking graphics
• Perform sound design:
  • impactful SFX
  • dynamic music ducking
  • precise audio balancing for voice clarity
• Collaborate with Lead Editors and creative teams to incorporate rapid turnaround notes.
• Analyze YouTube retention curves to identify drop-off moments and refine pacing rules.
• Maintain clean, organized Premiere Pro and After Effects timelines following internal standards.
• Coordinate with the thumbnail team so video assets and climaxes match channel creative strategy.
• Stay current with internet culture and viral editing trends to keep content fresh.

Requirements

• 3+ years professional experience in high-pacing YouTube video editing (commentary/viral digital content).
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects:
  • keyframing
  • motion tracking
  • masking
  • dynamic linking
• Strong understanding of YouTube performance drivers (e.g., AVD/Average View Duration, CTR, retention curve analysis).
• Mastery of dynamic sound design, audio leveling, and music curation.
• Data-driven approach focused on retention evidence.
• High sensitivity to feedback; ability to pivot quickly based on critique.
• Frame-by-frame attention to detail for pacing and visual overlays.
• Ability to manage high-volume workflows (compression, color correction, YouTube-optimized exports).
• Strong ownership of end-to-end performance, deadlines, and technical accuracy.
