Vice President of Engineering, Platform & Architecture

Role Overview

As Vice President of Engineering, Platform & Architecture, you will lead the transformation of the platform and architecture for the AI era. You’ll combine platform product strategy with hands-on engineering leadership to modernize foundational capabilities and drive business value.

Key Missions & Responsibilities

• Lead re-platforming and re-architecting of Optro’s platform to align with the AI era.
• Modernize core architecture across application, service, and data layers to improve engineering velocity and accelerate delivery across business domains.
• Own the strategy, roadmap, and execution for foundational platform capabilities, including:
  • Permissions/access platform modernization
  • API and integration strategy
  • Core data services
• Guide transformation by bringing teams along—defining future-state architecture while ensuring effective execution.

Requirements

• Experience owning shared services in an enterprise B2B SaaS environment, especially:
  • Access/permissions
  • APIs/integrations
  • Data platforms
• Proven ability to lead architecture modernization in a live, scaled product environment.
• Ability to lead both platform product strategy and platform engineering execution.
• Demonstrated transformational leadership: evolve legacy/monolithic systems into scalable, modular architectures.
• Experience balancing long-term architectural quality with near-term business needs.
• Track record of building high-performing teams and transforming legacy technical environments.
• Strong understanding of how architecture decisions impact engineering velocity, reliability, AI readiness, and customer experience.
• Credibility and influence with senior product, engineering, AI, GTM/customer, and executive leaders.
