Vice President of Data Science

Role Overview

Join Duetto as Vice President of Data Science (full remote). You will set the vision for data science, build and lead a world-class team, and deliver measurable business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the data science vision and multi-year strategy, balancing high-uncertainty research with pragmatic delivery.
• Lead the evolution of Duetto’s forecasting, pricing, and decision-making from heuristic approaches to ML-powered solutions.
• Establish a durable science practice through close partnership with the Apps and Platform organizations.
• Build and scale a rigorous research culture and ensure Duetto’s AI platform maintains strong responsible AI standards.
• Lead long-term opportunities to leverage data, ML, and AI to create value; communicate vision and execution with the organization and executive leadership.

Requirements

• 12+ years professional experience, including 5+ years in data science and product leadership.
• Proven ability to manage model lifecycle in high-scale SaaS environments, with focus on latency, cost, and data quality.
• Demonstrated leadership in hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing technical talent across multiple sub-functions.
• Experience with ML Platforms (MLOps): monitoring, deployment modes, and CI/CD for ML.
• Strong technical judgment in causal methods, forecasting, pricing optimization, and experimentation in commercial settings.
• Track record of delivering business outcomes from data science-driven product development.
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Operations Research, or a similar analytical discipline.

Nice-to-Haves / Additional Background

• Specialized experience in hospitality technology, especially revenue management.
• Experience scaling ML across many tenants with heterogeneous data (e.g., hierarchical/per-entity modeling).
• Experience operating in privacy/security-constrained or regulated decision-intelligence environments.
