About the role
Role overview
Handshake is seeking experienced Vectorworks users to support AI research through flexible, hourly independent contractor work. You’ll use your real-world experience in architectural design, BIM workflows, landscape design, or entertainment/set/lighting design to review AI-generated content and provide feedback that helps AI better understand design tasks and AEC (architecture, engineering, construction) workflows.
What you’ll do
- Create tool-related questions grounded in Vectorworks and real AEC workflows
- Review AI-generated responses for accuracy and relevance
- Provide feedback to improve AI understanding of design tasks and BIM workflows
- Annotate/label design assets when needed and review design models for accuracy, data integrity, and design consistency

Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience using Vectorworks (professional or freelance)
- Working knowledge of architectural concepts, BIM standards, and CAD workflows
- Strong written communication and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and follow written guidelines
Work model & logistics
- Independent contractor (not full-time employment)
- Fully remote; flexible, asynchronous work
- No minimum hour requirement (commonly ~5–20 hours/week when assigned)
- Ongoing program with projects opening periodically year-round
Work authorization
- Must be currently residing in the United States
- F-1 students may be eligible if they have CPT/OPT; STEM OPT is not supported
