About the role
Role Overview
VDC Manager at VIATechnik (remote within the US, with optional hybrid engagement in Chicago, Denver, or New York). You will lead execution of BIM and VDC solutions on major infrastructure and facility projects, integrating digital models, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and driving outcomes across design, construction, and operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead large-scale BIM conversions and execution of a nationwide BIM roadmap
- Develop and deliver enterprise BIM training programs for clients
- Implement and shape enterprise-wide BIM standards
- Manage common data environments (CDEs) and model coordination efforts
- Serve as a BIM Owner’s Representative on major capital projects
- Coordinate BIM updates, facilitate model audits, and run clash detection on revised components
- Communicate results and influence internal/external stakeholders
- Work cross-functionally to drive digital transformation and ensure deliverables exceed expectations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in architecture, civil engineering, construction management, or similar
- 5–10 years experience providing BIM/VDC implementation, training, and support
- 5+ years BIM coordination experience on major/complex projects
- Experience coordinating BIM updates, running clash detection, and communicating findings to stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage complex commercial/industrial design projects using Revit, Navisworks, Civil3D, and related tools
- Knowledge of primary building systems (e.g., structural/foundations, MEP, fire)
First 12 Months Goals
- Lead and execute a nationwide BIM conversion roadmap
- Develop and deliver an Enterprise BIM training program for a major client
- Develop and implement enterprise-level BIM standards
