Role overview
Turnitin is seeking an experienced UX Writer to create clear, user-centered product content and influence content decisions across end-to-end product development. The role collaborates closely with UX designers, researchers, product managers, engineering partners, and the broader UX Writing team.
Responsibilities
- Write, review, and refine product content across the user experience (e.g., interface copy, onboarding, product guidance)
- Produce clear UX copy including UI text, error messages, and onboarding content
- Create and improve user guidance and release notes
- Collaborate with UX Designers and Product Managers from early concepts through delivery, providing copy/content feedback
- Apply UX writing principles, style guidance, and accessibility considerations (including input from user research)
- Communicate the rationale behind content decisions to stakeholders
- Manage stakeholder feedback loops and respond constructively
- Use Jira to track, prioritize, and deliver work in a sprint process
Requirements
- 2–7 years of relevant industry experience
- Solid foundation in UX writing and technical writing practices
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Writing, Technical Communication, HCI/UX Design, Linguistics, Communications, Education, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Ability to connect content decisions to user needs, product goals, and business outcomes
- Thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with changing requirements
