UX Writer (USA Remote)

Role Overview

UX Writer (USA Remote) at Turnitin. You’ll create clear, user-centered product content and help shape content decisions across the end-to-end product development process, collaborating closely with product and engineering partners and the broader UX team.

Responsibilities

• Write and refine product UX copy, including:
  • interface text
  • error messages
  • onboarding content
• Create and improve user guidance and release notes.
• Collaborate with UX Designers and Product Managers from early concepts through delivery, providing content and copy feedback.
• Apply UX writing principles, style guidance, accessibility considerations, and user research to content decisions.
• Clearly communicate the rationale behind content choices to stakeholders.
• Manage project-level feedback loops with stakeholders and respond constructively.
• Use Jira to track, prioritize, and deliver work within a structured sprint process.

Requirements

• Strong foundation in UX writing and technical writing practices.
• Ability to connect content decisions to user needs, product goals, and business outcomes.
• Comfort working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where requirements can change.
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Writing, Technical Communication, HCI, UX Design, Linguistics, Communications, Education, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 2–7 years of industry experience (as stated in the posting excerpt).
