About the role
Role overview
As a UX Writer (USA Remote) at Turnitin, you will create clear, user-centered product content and contribute to content decisions across the end-to-end product development process.
Responsibilities
- Write and refine UX copy across the product experience, including UI text, error messages, and onboarding.
- Create and improve user guidance and release notes.
- Partner with UX Designers and Product Managers throughout the design process, providing content feedback from early concepts to delivery.
- Apply UX writing principles, style guidance, accessibility considerations, and incorporate user research into content decisions.
- Communicate the rationale behind content choices to stakeholders.
- Manage stakeholder feedback loops and respond constructively.
- Use Jira to track, prioritize, and deliver work within sprint processes.
Requirements
- 2–7 years of industry experience.
- Solid foundation in UX writing and technical writing practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in English/Writing/Technical Communication/HCI/UX Design/Linguistics/Communications/Education or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with changing requirements.
Nice to have
- Experience leveraging user experience outcomes and product context to connect content decisions to user needs, product goals, and business outcomes.
