About the role

Role Overview

UX/UI Designer at Vertech You’ll turn industrial complexity into intuitive, elegant user experiences for real users in high-impact environments. This is not primarily a visual-only role—your work will uncover how operators, engineers, and technicians think and make decisions, then translate insights into modern interfaces that improve usability, efficiency, and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct user research to understand industrial workflows, pain points, and goals (operators, technicians, engineers)
  • Plan and execute research activities such as:
    • interviews, usability studies, field observations, surveys
    • generate actionable insights
  • Convert research into personas, journey maps, workflows, and product recommendations
  • Design wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes for industrial web, desktop, and embedded applications
  • Create modern, scalable UX/UI for complex operational systems and data-driven applications
  • Collaborate with product managers, software developers, automation engineers, and stakeholders across the product lifecycle
  • Advocate for users during planning, design, and implementation decisions
  • Iterate rapidly using user feedback, analytics, and evolving business needs
  • Help define and maintain design systems, UI standards, and reusable component libraries
  • Bring clarity and simplicity to environments where complexity is often “normal”

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HCI, Industrial Design, Psychology, or related field
  • 5–7 years of experience in UX/UI research and design
  • Proven ability designing complex B2B/industrial/operational software
  • Strong proficiency with modern design/prototyping tools: Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of usability, interaction design, and information architecture
  • Ability to balance user needs, technical constraints, and business goals in fast-moving environments
  • Experience working in Agile product development

Nice to Have (Bonus Points)

  • Experience in manufacturing, automation, or other industrial environments
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems, PLC interfaces, MES systems, or operational technology platforms
  • Background in human factors
