About the role
Role Overview
UX/UI Designer at Vertech You’ll turn industrial complexity into intuitive, elegant user experiences for real users in high-impact environments. This is not primarily a visual-only role—your work will uncover how operators, engineers, and technicians think and make decisions, then translate insights into modern interfaces that improve usability, efficiency, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Conduct user research to understand industrial workflows, pain points, and goals (operators, technicians, engineers)
- Plan and execute research activities such as:
- interviews, usability studies, field observations, surveys
- generate actionable insights
- Convert research into personas, journey maps, workflows, and product recommendations
- Design wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes for industrial web, desktop, and embedded applications
- Create modern, scalable UX/UI for complex operational systems and data-driven applications
- Collaborate with product managers, software developers, automation engineers, and stakeholders across the product lifecycle
- Advocate for users during planning, design, and implementation decisions
- Iterate rapidly using user feedback, analytics, and evolving business needs
- Help define and maintain design systems, UI standards, and reusable component libraries
- Bring clarity and simplicity to environments where complexity is often “normal”
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in HCI, Industrial Design, Psychology, or related field
- 5–7 years of experience in UX/UI research and design
- Proven ability designing complex B2B/industrial/operational software
- Strong proficiency with modern design/prototyping tools: Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills
- Strong understanding of usability, interaction design, and information architecture
- Ability to balance user needs, technical constraints, and business goals in fast-moving environments
- Experience working in Agile product development
Nice to Have (Bonus Points)
- Experience in manufacturing, automation, or other industrial environments
- Familiarity with SCADA systems, PLC interfaces, MES systems, or operational technology platforms
- Background in human factors
