About the role
Role Overview
Volunteer UX/UI Designer (unpaid) focused on an Android app and Figma design workflows. You’ll collaborate with the product team to turn educational and financial concepts into intuitive, engaging mobile experiences.
Responsibilities
- Create user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes in Figma
- Design and refine Android UI layouts and components
- Ensure designs align with brand and accessibility guidelines
- Gather and interpret user feedback, then iterate on designs
- Document design decisions
- Work closely with developers to support implementation
Requirements
- Strong UX fundamentals: user research, user flows, wireframing, information architecture
- Solid UI design skills: layout, typography, color, design systems for Android
- Hands-on Figma experience (components, auto-layout, prototyping, design libraries)
- Familiarity with Material Design / Android best practices
- Understanding of usability, accessibility, and responsive design
- Ability to collaborate remotely and clearly communicate design rationale
- Portfolio/samples demonstrating mobile app UX/UI work (Figma prototypes preferred)
Nice-to-haves
- Interest in education, financial literacy, fintech, or music-related products
- Self-motivated and comfortable in a volunteer, startup-style environment
