Role Overview

UX/UI Designer — Pre-Trip Customer Experience is a founding hire to help build WorldStrides’ in-house UX/UI design capability for the pre-trip experience. This is a high-leverage moment where families decide whether to trust the company with their kids and where students feel excited or anxious about the trip ahead.

What You’ll Build

• Core components of the WorldStrides interactive design system, including:
  • Visual language
  • Component library
  • Interaction patterns that can be leveraged across experiences
• Look, feel, and design execution for what ships:
  • Clear flows
  • Well-crafted screens
  • Consistent visual language
  • Prototypes that support fast decision-making

Responsibilities

• Own UX/UI interaction design across supported pods in the pre-trip space (flows, screens, component patterns, interaction details, visual polish)
• Produce Figma work that is engineering-ready:
  • Clean files
  • Reusable components
  • Sensible naming
  • Ready handoff to engineering
• Establish foundation for the digital interaction design system:
  • Component library
  • Type scale
  • Color system
  • Spacing rules
  • Interaction/usage patterns
  • Ensure alignment with brand and digital marketing treatments while optimizing for pre-trip use cases
• Create:
  • Low-fidelity prototypes for quick idea testing
  • High-fidelity screens when building
• Collaborate transparently with PMs on time and prioritization across pods

Ways of Working

• Discovery-focused product development with lightweight parallel experiments
• Use AI to accelerate generation of problem frames, concepts, and prototypes
• Validate rigorously through user research and experience evaluation from the Voice of Customer (VoC) team
