UX/UI Design Lead

Own end-to-end UX/UI design for complex client engagements—setting design direction, scaling design systems, and mentoring other designers.

Responsibilities

• Lead UX/UI design across complex client projects, from discovery and strategy through execution and optimization
• Own end-to-end delivery by creating and codifying a system and evolving a style guide
• Set design direction for digital experiences across websites, platforms, and healthcare journeys
• Translate user research, usability findings, and business requirements into strategic, scalable solutions
• Lead UX research activities: user interviews, usability testing, audits, and synthesis workshops
• Create and evolve scalable, responsive design systems and component libraries in Figma
• Champion accessibility and inclusive design, ensuring usability and accessibility expectations are met
• Collaborate cross-functionally with strategists, researchers, developers, content teams, and stakeholders for seamless implementation
• Facilitate client conversations, workshops, presentations, and stakeholder reviews
• Communicate design rationale tied to user research, accessibility standards, and business objectives
• Mentor and coach junior designers through critique and professional development guidance
• Improve design processes, workflows, and team standards for quality and efficiency
• Iterate using feedback, testing, analytics, and evolving project goals while maintaining high craft
• Support an AI-first approach and integrate new design methods and AI tools

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in UX/product design or related fields; portfolio showing strategic thinking and measurable impact (agency environment preferred)
• Proven experience leading UX engagements and establishing design direction
• Strong understanding of compliance requirements, including accessibility and HIPAA compliance
• Expertise in research synthesis and strategic design thinking
• Advanced Figma skills: component systems, prototyping, responsive design, and developer handoff workflows
• Strong understanding of design systems, accessibility standards, usability principles, and inclusive design
• Deep knowledge of design fundamentals: typography, hierarchy, spacing, layout, interaction design, responsive behavior
• Strong communication and stakeholder facilitation skills
• Experience mentoring junior designers and fostering a collaborative team culture
