UX Researcher

Role overview

As a UX Researcher at Volta, you’ll deepen understanding of how customers and internal users experience the platform. You’ll surface friction points, mental models, and unmet needs to inform product and design decisions—while helping establish research practice early in the company.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research with customers and internal platform users
• Partner with design and product management to define research priorities aligned to roadmap needs
• Run usability testing for new and existing platform features
• Synthesize insights into clear, actionable recommendations for product and design teams
• Build and maintain a repository of research findings, personas, and user insights
• Define and evolve research methods and practices as the function grows
• Advocate for user perspective in product and design discussions
• Track impact of research on product decisions and outcomes over time

Requirements

• Experience as a UX Researcher, ideally for technical/developer-facing/infrastructure products
• Strong grounding in both qualitative and quantitative research methods
• Ability to research complex technical workflows and translate them into clear insights
• Proven ability partnering with product managers and designers to influence roadmap decisions
• Excellent synthesis and communication skills
• Self-directed and comfortable establishing research practice in a fast-moving environment
