About the role
UX Researcher (User Experience Research)
Work with product and design teams to plan and execute user research across the product lifecycle, turning findings into actionable product recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute qualitative and quantitative user research throughout the product lifecycle
- Conduct user interviews, contextual inquiries, surveys, usability testing, focus groups, and observational research
- Analyze research findings and translate insights into product roadmap recommendations
- Create Human-Centered Design artifacts such as:
- Personas
- Customer journey maps
- Empathy maps
- Other HCD deliverables
- Define UX success metrics and benchmarks for current and future-state experiences
- Run remote moderated and unmoderated usability testing using industry-standard platforms
- Collaborate with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, Business Analysts, Developers, and other stakeholders
- Ensure research reflects accessibility and inclusive design principles
- Present findings to executive leadership, business stakeholders, and technical teams
- Support Agile teams with continuous user feedback during development
- Maintain research repositories, documentation, and best practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 2 successfully completed projects showing experience deriving product roadmap priorities from user research data
Preferred Qualifications
- Research experience with diverse and vulnerable populations (e.g., non-English speakers, people with disabilities, senior citizens)
- Experience establishing UX benchmarks (e.g., System Usability Scale (SUS), Time-on-Task)
- Experience with remote unmoderated testing platforms (e.g., UserTesting, Optimal Workshop)
- Experience conducting research in Agile or SAFe environments
- Experience supporting enterprise digital transformation or government modernization initiatives
- Knowledge of accessibility standards, inclusive design, and WCAG
