UX Researcher

Role overview

Plan and execute qualitative and quantitative user research across the product lifecycle, then translate findings into actionable recommendations for product roadmaps and UX/UI design.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct user research activities including:
    • User interviews and contextual inquiries
    • Surveys and focus groups
    • Usability testing, observational research
    • Remote moderated and unmoderated usability testing
  • Analyze research findings and synthesize insights into:
    • Product roadmap recommendations
    • Product requirements and design recommendations
  • Create Human-Centered Design (HCD) artifacts such as:
    • Personas
    • Customer journey maps
    • Empathy maps
  • Establish UX success metrics and benchmarks to evaluate current and future experiences.
  • Ensure research incorporates accessibility and inclusive design principles.
  • Present findings to executive leadership, business stakeholders, and technical teams.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, Business Analysts, Developers, and other stakeholders.
  • Support Agile product teams with continuous user feedback.
  • Maintain research repositories, documentation, and best practices.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • At least 2 successfully completed projects demonstrating deriving product roadmap priorities from user research data.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience researching with diverse and vulnerable populations (e.g., non-English speakers, people with disabilities, senior citizens).
  • Experience creating UX benchmarks such as System Usability Scale (SUS) and Time-on-Task.
  • Experience with remote unmoderated testing tools such as UserTesting or Optimal Workshop.
  • Experience in Agile or SAFe environments.
  • Experience supporting enterprise digital transformation or government modernization initiatives.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles (e.g., WCAG).
