UX Researcher

Role overview

Join Slingshot Aerospace as a UX Researcher, advocating for the voice of the user and enabling research-driven design decisions across multiple product teams.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end UX research studies, including:
  • defining the research scope
  • recruiting participants
  • selecting research methodologies
  • facilitating sessions and conducting analysis
• Conduct mixed-methods research, such as:
  • interviews
  • usability testing
  • surveys
  • field studies
  • A/B testing
• Synthesize results into actionable outputs, including:
  • clear conclusions and recommendations
  • personas
  • journey maps
  • insight frameworks that support product decisions and roadmap prioritization

Requirements

• Strong project management and organizational skills with follow-through
• Willingness to dive deep into complex technical domains (e.g., space systems, defense operations, satellite tracking)
• Self-starter who proactively identifies research opportunities that create value for users and the business
• Ability to obtain or maintain US Government Security Clearance (preference for an active TS clearance)
• Experience planning and executing end-to-end studies using both:
  • generative and evaluative research methods
• Proven ability to influence decisions via clear insights, storytelling, and alignment with data
• 3+ years of UX research (or related field) with increasing scope and autonomy
• Collaboration and stakeholder influence
• Experience with journey mapping, persona creation, and insight frameworks
• Tool proficiency with UX research tools (e.g., Figma, Dovetail, UserTesting, Miro, Lyssna)
• Research ops awareness (participant management, templates, tagging, documentation)
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) to work effectively with customers, partners, and investors
• Familiarity with ethics in research and current UX research trends
• Understanding of design thinking, human-centered design, and the product development process

Nice to have

• Advanced degree and/or continued learning via research training, behavioral science certifications, or academic coursework
• Domain experience in aerospace, geospatial tech, 3D visualization, or real-time decision tools
