About the role
Role Overview
Fully remote, long-term contract UX Researcher position for Precision System Design Inc. You will lead and support usability studies, uncover user insights, and help shape user-centered improvements across products and platforms.
Responsibilities
- Plan, recruit, and schedule user experience studies for insurance agents, employees, and consumers.
- Work with business and development teams to gather requirements, define business goals, and propose alternative approaches when needed.
- Conduct user experience studies with some guidance from senior UX researchers.
- Communicate regularly with sponsors, stakeholders, and participants to keep initiatives on track.
- Collect, report, and communicate UX research metrics to measure usage and drive information sharing across the organization.
- Recommend UX service optimizations using acquired knowledge and guidance to ensure successful outcomes and business value.
- Follow UX standards and guidelines to align with best practices.
- Conduct generative research to uncover user needs and opportunities.
- Conduct evaluative research to test and validate solutions for continuous improvement.
- Stay current on industry UX standards and best practices.
Requirements (Essential Skills)
- Fundamental knowledge of software development concepts (methodologies, software construction, and roles across the lifecycle).
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment across business areas.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Listening and communication skills (verbal and written), including translating technical information into understandable terms.
- Ability to research emerging UX, software development, and industry best practices.
- Capability to guide customers through the User Centered Design process to implement UX improvements.
Nice to Have (Plusses)
- Proficient knowledge of IT industry UX approaches, standards, and best practices.
- Familiarity with IT functions and practices in large IT environments; ability to align technical decisions to business need.
- Ability to align local goals with IT vision, strategy, and priorities.
- Experience setting up and using UX equipment and tools (e.g., usability labs).
