UX Researcher IV

Role Overview

UX Researcher IV (Consumer Insights Researcher) — Temporary (8 months, possibility of extension). A tech client is seeking a UX/Consumer Insights Researcher to support product and user experience research through well-scoped, time-bound projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute research using qualitative/quantitative methods such as:
  • Interviews, product evaluations, surveys, and diary studies
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define:
  • Research goals, scope, timelines, and deliverables
• Create research materials (e.g., research plans, screeners, discussion guides)
• Conduct data collection, synthesize findings, and produce actionable recommendations
• Communicate insights via written reports and presentations tailored to stakeholders
• Advise on next steps and follow-up research opportunities for iterative learning
• Maintain research documentation and contribute to research repositories
• Some in-person work: approximately once per month to retail locations; potentially week-long trips

Requirements

• Experience conducting UX research and selecting the right methods for the research question
• Experience planning and moderating user interviews and usability testing

Must-Have Skills

• Mixed-method research with survey design and analysis (quant-leaning)
• Comfort with focus groups, interviews, and field work
• Vendor management experience
• Proficiency with AI tools (e.g., Claude) and research efficiency tools

Nice-to-Haves

• Domain experience: consumer electronics, hardware, wearables, or packaged goods
• Shopper insight / retail research experience
• Tech client experience, including familiarity with:
  • Tracking studies
  • TURF analysis
  • Conjoint analysis
