UX Researcher I

Role Overview

UX Researcher focused on evaluative and generative user research for digital products (software and app experiences). You’ll partner with design, product management, engineering, and marketing to uncover user needs, validate concepts, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Cross-functionally identify customer/end-user gaps and needs, and plan and execute user research to generate product-relevant insights
• Develop an informed understanding of users and their experiences
• Help teams explore new opportunities, evaluate existing products, and improve software/app-based experiences
• Plan and run research projects using lab and field methods, emphasizing:
  • Usability evaluations
  • Concept validation
  • Iterative product assessments
• Facilitate workshops and moderate research/evaluation sessions (including hands-on testing of prototypes)
• Create and maintain insight tools (e.g., personas, experience maps, service design blueprints) to support product/design discussions
• Synthesize findings into clear, actionable insights and collaborate to define recommendations, priorities, and design direction
• Apply a holistic end-to-end user experience approach beyond direct software/app usage

Requirements (You Must Have)

• Experience in human factors, cognitive psychology, HCI, UX design, or a related field
• 2+ years of relevant experience in user research and usability testing
• Strong communication and presentation skills to convey complex insights to non-technical stakeholders
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams

Valued / Nice to Have

• Evaluative research experience for software/digital products and strong interpretation through UX, HCI, and social science lenses
• Generative research experience, including defining research questions, participant screening, and running concept-generation workshops
• Qualitative analysis and synthesis methods such as affinity mapping and thematic analysis
• Experience turning research into recommendations and design direction with cross-functional partners
• Experience collaborating with product managers, designers, engineers, sales, support, and others
• Workshop moderation/facilitation experience and experience with external research vendors
• Project planning/scoping and execution in a phase-gate and/or Agile environment
