About the role

Role Overview

The Product Design UX Researcher at Epsilon brings rigor and curiosity to help the product team understand users and make better product decisions. You will own the research agenda, select the right methods for each question, and turn findings into recommendations that shift roadmaps—not just reports.

Responsibilities

  • Own research studies end-to-end: define the research question, choose methodology, recruit participants, facilitate sessions, synthesize findings, and deliver clear recommendations.
  • Advocate for the right method based on the research challenge (e.g., contextual inquiry, diary study, moderated usability test, surveys, card sort).
  • Plan and moderate qualitative research (interviews, usability tests, inquiries) to gather honest, actionable insights.
  • Design and analyze quantitative studies (surveys, tree tests, benchmarking, analytics review) and integrate results with qualitative insights.
  • Use research tools to accelerate operations (e.g., transcription, affinity mapping, initial pattern recognition) while applying strong human judgment.
  • Maintain a shared research repository so past findings are discoverable and usable across the product team.
  • Communicate findings cross-functionally through structured presentations that connect user behavior to business outcomes and product decisions.
  • Partner with Product Designers and Product Managers across the lifecycle from discovery to evaluative testing.
  • Build a user-centered culture via research office hours and broad sharing of insights.
  • Stay current with research tools, AI-assisted workflows, and emerging methodologies, and propose improvements to quality/efficiency.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of hands-on UX research experience on digital products, with a portfolio showing studies you owned from question through recommendation.
  • Strong fluency in qualitative methods (interviews, usability testing, contextual inquiry, diary studies) and quantitative methods (surveys, card sorts, tree tests, product analytics review).
  • Ability to facilitate confidently with different audiences (including skeptical enterprise users) and present to senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to match methods to the research question rather than defaulting.
  • Practical experience using AI tools to speed up synthesis/operational tasks with clear judgment on when human interpretation is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to distill findings into a decisive point of view.
  • Working knowledge of how digital products are built and how research fits into agile, iterative product cycles.
  • Degree in Human-Computer Interaction or Cognitive Science (truncated in posting but indicated).
