About the role

Role Overview

UX Research Intern, AI Experience You’ll support UX research initiatives for Rocket Lawyer’s Copilot AI workstream, focusing on how customers perceive, trust, and interact with AI-powered features. This early-career internship is designed to help you build foundational skills in qualitative UX research in a fast-moving product environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support research execution for Copilot AI:
    • Assist with planning and coordinating moderated user interviews (recruiting, scheduling, participant communications)
    • Take detailed interview notes and help synthesize themes and insights
    • Support qualitative coding and analysis
    • Contribute to research artifacts (insight summaries, journey maps, presentations)
    • Maintain research documentation and organize insights in shared repositories
  • Translate research into product impact:
    • Support concept testing and usability evaluations for new Copilot AI features
    • Identify patterns related to user trust, prompting behaviors, and human-AI workflows
    • Learn how qualitative findings connect to product metrics and experimentation outcomes
  • Cross-functional collaboration & growth:
    • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers across the research lifecycle
    • Participate in readouts, reviews, and critiques
    • Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with guidance

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Design, or related
  • Strong interest in UX research and AI experiences
  • Foundational knowledge of qualitative methods (e.g., interviews, usability testing, surveys)
  • Strong organizational and note-taking skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and learn in a fast-moving environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience conducting user interviews or usability tests (academic/internship experience welcome)
  • Familiarity with research tools such as Dovetail, UserTesting, Lookback, or similar
  • Exposure to AI products / interest in human-AI interaction
  • Basic understanding of product experimentation or analytics
  • Interest in legal tech or other regulated industries
