UX Research & Design Internship

Role overview

The UX Research & Design Intern will help define the optimal digital user experience for multiple projects and prospective users. Working with a senior designer, a small team of design interns, and test users, you’ll translate business needs and user insights into design requirements and prototypes.

Responsibilities

• Participate in defining user journeys, feature recommendations, and enhancements while balancing business initiatives and technical capabilities
• Create wireframes and prototypes to improve user experiences across projects
• Identify factors influencing customer/user goals and needs; develop mental models
• Provide input on UX design framework delivery and release schedules
• Capture and synthesize information from multiple sources to deliver innovative, usable, and engaging design solutions
• Produce and improve user journey maps, site maps, user flow diagrams, and wireframes
• Collaborate on interaction models and prototypes, including macro and micro interactions
• Contribute to project briefs, presentations, competitive analysis, and other documentation for stakeholders
• Communicate outcomes of changes and user tests

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a workshop, bootcamp, online class, or bachelor’s degree in UX, graphic design, human-computer interaction, or a related field
• Knowledge of UI/UX best practices and trends
• Strong understanding of design principles
• Proficiency with design tools (e.g., Figma)
• Strong collaboration, communication, and presentation skills
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to commit to 15–20 hours per week
