About the role
Role Overview
You’ll be a UX Researcher/Designer helping raise the standard of user experience for federal agencies. The work involves understanding agency missions, users’ needs, and applicable policy while contributing to user-centered products in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
User Research
- Support user research activities including user interviews, surveys, quantitative analysis, and usability testing
- Analyze user data and help develop personas, journey maps, and other UX artifacts
- Help create research reports and presentations
UX Design
- Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes under guidance of senior designers
- Participate in design reviews and critiques
- Apply UX best practices to design solutions
- Maintain strong foundations in hierarchy, typography, and spatial relationships (visual polish not the primary requirement)
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders
- Communicate design decisions and rationale clearly and concisely
Professional Growth
- Continuously improve UX research and design skills
- Stay current on UX trends and best practices
Requirements
- 0–4 years of practical experience in UX
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles
- Basic knowledge of qualitative and quantitative UX research methods
- Proficiency with Figma (including good file practices) and solid prototyping skills
- Excellent communication (especially written) and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to learn quickly and adapt
- Portfolio demonstrating hands-on application of UX principles
- HCI degree (BA/BS or MS) preferred

Security Clearance
