About the role

Role Overview

As a User Experience Researcher/Designer at Bravo17 Digital, you’ll help raise the UX bar for federal agencies and defense-related environments. The role combines user research and UX design while working closely with cross-functional teams to build user-centered products.

Responsibilities

User Research

  • Support user research activities including user interviews, surveys, quantitative analysis, and usability testing
  • Analyze user data and contribute to personas, journey maps, and other UX artifacts
  • Help create research reports and presentations

UX Design

  • Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes under guidance of senior designers
  • Participate in design reviews and critiques
  • Learn and apply UX best practices to design solutions
  • Maintain strong fundamentals in hierarchy, typography, and spatial relationships

Collaboration & Growth

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders
  • Clearly communicate design decisions and rationale
  • Actively develop UX research and design skills and stay current on best practices

Requirements

  • 0–4 years of practical experience in UX
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles
  • Basic knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Proficiency in Figma (including good file hygiene) and solid prototyping skills
  • Excellent communication (especially written) and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to learn quickly, think critically, and adapt
  • Portfolio demonstrating hands-on application of UX principles
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in HCI preferred

  • Ability to operate with minimal structure and create clarity in ambiguous problems
  • Comfort communicating confidently with senior federal stakeholders and defending decisions with data
  • Ability to balance user-centered design with regulatory, policy, and security constraints

Security Clearance

  • Requirement: Secret clearance (R)
