About the role

Role Overview

As a User Experience Researcher/Designer at Bravo17 Digital, you’ll help raise the bar for user experience for federal agencies, supporting mission-driven digital products. You’ll build a deep understanding of agency missions, user needs, and applicable policy while partnering with cross-functional teams to create user-centered solutions.

Responsibilities

User Research

  • Support user research activities including user interviews, surveys, quantitative analysis, and usability testing
  • Analyze user data and contribute to personas, journey maps, and other UX artifacts
  • Help create research reports and presentations

UX Design

  • Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes (under guidance of senior designers)
  • Participate in design reviews and critiques
  • Learn and apply UX best practices
  • Strong foundation in hierarchy, typography, and spatial relationships (not required to be a top visual designer)

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders
  • Communicate design decisions and rationale clearly and concisely

Professional Development

  • Continuously improve UX research and design skills
  • Stay current on UX trends and best practices

Requirements

  • 0–4 years of practical experience in UX
  • Understanding of user-centered design principles
  • Basic knowledge of qualitative and quantitative user research methods
  • Proficiency with Figma (including good file setup hygiene) and solid prototyping skills
  • Strong communication skills (especially written) and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to learn quickly and adapt
  • Portfolio demonstrating hands-on application of UX principles
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in HCI preferred

  • Ability to operate with minimal structure and create clarity
  • Comfort leading research and design with minimal oversight
  • Ability to defend decisions with data and rationale
  • Experience designing in environments with regulatory, policy, and security constraints

Security Clearance

  • Requirement: Secret clearance (R)
