About the role
Role Overview
The UX Product Researcher will join Epsilon’s Product Design team to connect user behavior to product strategy through rigorous, people-forward research. You will own the research agenda end-to-end, selecting the right methods for each ambiguous challenge and translating findings into decisions that shift roadmaps.
Responsibilities
- Own UX research studies end-to-end: define the question, choose methodology, recruit participants, facilitate sessions, synthesize findings, and deliver recommendations.
- Assess each research challenge independently and advocate for appropriate methods such as:
- contextual inquiry
- diary studies
- moderated usability tests
- surveys
- card sorting
- and method combinations based on the question
- Plan and moderate qualitative research (interviews, usability tests, inquiries) with confidence and warmth.
- Design and analyze quantitative research, including surveys, tree tests, benchmarking, and analytics reviews; integrate with qualitative insights.
- Use user research tools (e.g., Looppanel, Lyssna) to accelerate operations like transcription, affinity mapping, and initial pattern recognition—while applying human judgment for interpretation.
- Build and maintain a shared research repository so product teams can discover and use prior findings (research MCP).
- Communicate insights to stakeholders (product, engineering, leadership) with structured presentations tied to business outcomes and product decisions.
- Partner with Product Designers and Product Managers across the lifecycle from generative discovery to evaluative testing of shipped features.
- Build user-centered culture via research office hours and broad sharing of findings.
- Stay current with evolving research tools, AI-assisted workflows, and emerging methodologies; propose improvements to quality/efficiency.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of hands-on UX research experience on digital products, including a portfolio of studies you owned from question to recommendation.
- Demonstrated fluency in qualitative methods (interviews, usability testing, contextual inquiry, diary studies) and quantitative methods (surveys, card sorts, tree tests, analytics/product analytics review).
- Strong facilitation and communication: comfortable with enterprise users and presenting to senior stakeholders.
- Ability to choose the right method for the research question (not defaulting to what’s familiar).
- Practical experience using AI tools to accelerate synthesis/operations with clear judgment about where human interpretation is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to distill findings into a decisive point of view.
Nice-to-haves
- Working knowledge of research governance and processes (implied by maintaining a repository and broad stakeholder enablement).
