About the role
Role Overview
UX Engineer (UX Designer) for a long-term engagement.
Duration: 6+ months Location: Remote, with possible one week onsite in NYC (and surrounding areas) and also mentions Charlotte, San Antonio, DC, and Irvine.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit existing UX designs to understand the current user experience, identify pain points, and align with product goals and technical constraints.
- Advocate for users and ensure solutions address real needs, delivering seamless and intuitive experiences.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Managers, developers, compliance, and accessibility experts to meet business and regulatory requirements.
- Create and refine wireframes, prototypes, and visual assets; share designs with stakeholders and iterate based on feedback.
- Apply user research to inform decisions, validate concepts, and iterate.
- Ensure usability and consistency using design systems and established design patterns, including accessibility considerations.
- Prepare design handoff artifacts (documentation, annotations, accessibility notes) and support development via design reviews and walkthroughs.
- Track and evaluate post-launch design performance using data and feedback to guide improvements.
- Independently lead moderately complex design efforts with minimal supervision.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and influence product direction toward user-centered solutions and measurable business impact.
- Adopt AI-assisted design tools to improve design efficiency and innovation.
- Lead cross-platform UX design across mobile, web, and voice interfaces.
- Participate in and facilitate design sprints and iterations, supporting design thinking activities (e.g., journey mapping, user flows, service blueprints).
- Provide constructive design feedback and mentor peers through design critique.
- Speak on behalf of the user with Product Managers/Product Owners to influence roadmap and product strategy.
