UX Designer
Location: Chicago, IL
Role Overview
Own UX work at the intersection of product strategy, visual design, and user research. Translate complex user needs into intuitive, high-fidelity interfaces for web and mobile, partnering with Product Managers and frontend engineers to create seamless workflows.
Responsibilities
- Create user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups in Figma for complex, data-dense enterprise workflows.
- Maintain and scale a centralized design system, ensuring consistent UI patterns, accessibility standards, and component library usage.
- Build interactive prototypes using Figma, ProtoPie, or Principle for reviews, presentations, and usability testing.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers to ensure designs are translated into production-grade code; review implementation/layouts.
- Plan and run qualitative user research, including:
- structured usability tests
- card sorting
- contextual inquiries
- Analyze findings from user feedback, session recordings, and product analytics to identify friction and propose iterative UX improvements.
Requirements
- 3–6 years of professional experience as a UX Designer / Product Designer (or equivalent) in a technology product company.
- A strong portfolio showing:
- a structured design process
- user research methodology
- high-quality visual execution for complex web applications
- Advanced skills with design tools, especially Figma, plus prototype-sharing tools.
- Strong knowledge of responsive design systems, grid layouts, and web accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA).
- Bachelor’s degree in HCI, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or equivalent practical experience.
Bonus / Nice to Have
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, and/or component frameworks like React.
- Experience designing data visualization tools.
